Yahoo Avatars!

Yahoo! Avatars

Who wouldn't want to be an anime character? This Yahoo application is fun to play around with and gives individuality to the username/password identity online. The virtual world is becoming a major part of being online. The only problem lies within the fact that people can completely change the things they don't like about themselves in order to be their ideal image, instead of dealing with their problems of low self esteem.

For college students I think it's an applicable tool, although this is probably the last thing college students need to waste their time on. With such sources of Facebook and Myspace, why would someone want to make themselves virtual? To appeal to students I think you could add an application where you can transform the different items you have added yourself... for instance I could move my girl to where she sits on the Zebra or I could stylize her hair more to fit my look. Also if we could create our school's emblem or mascot, or if we could just create our own modes period, or if we could add our own personal pictures to backgrounds since us college students tend to be interested in traveling.

Good points.
Do you think, if they were allowed, this would be a successful addition to Myspace/Facebook applications? Do you think members would use it and/or enjoy it?
